Maharashtra Judicial Service (Maharashtra PCSJ)

The Maharashtra Judicial Service Examination is conducted annually by the Bombay High Court to recruit Civil Judges (Junior Division), also known as the MPSC Civil Judge Exam, JMFC, or CJJD. Eligibility is determined by nationality, educational qualification, and age limit. Candidates must be Indian citizens with good moral character and no criminal record involving moral turpitude. A degree in LLB or LLM from a recognized university is required, with a minimum of 55% marks for fresh graduates. The age limit is 21-25 years for fresh graduates and up to 35 years for practicing lawyers with at least three years of experience, with relaxations for reserved categories. Proficiency in Marathi is also mandatory. The selection process involves a preliminary examination, a mains examination, and a viva voce.
